Another swine flu case triggers panic; 15 dengue cases confirmed
A new swine flu case was reported from Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana, on Saturday taking the toll to five.
Another 15 fresh cases of dengue were also confirmed from various hospitals here.
The patient Preeti Talwar, who is suffering from H1N1 virus, was admitted to Apollo Hospital. Sources said she is under treatment from the past three days and her family members have also been put on medication.
So far, a total of five swine flu cases have been confirmed this year from Ludhiana. Recently, a swine flu patient, who was under treatment at DMCH, Ludhiana, had died.
State nodal officer of integrated disease surveillance programme Dr Deepak Bhatia said the two samples from Ludhiana hospitals were sent to Chandigarh and one was found to be positive.
Meanwhile, 15 fresh cases of dengue have been reported from various hospitals in Ludhiana, including Apollo Hospitals, DMCH and CMCH. Out of 15, seven dengue patients belong to Ludhiana, while the remaining are from other districts of Punjab as well as other states.
