Dis­abled school­child­ren are sec­ond to none: ex­pert

Pro­gramme is con­ducted ev­ery year with an aim to mo­ti­vate dis­abled chil­dren

To mo­ti­vate the dis­abled stu­dents of Lud­hi­ana- II block, the government pri­mary school, Kucha Num­ber 16, Field Ganj, Lud­hi­ana, or­gan­ised a sports and cul­tural pro­gramme on Tues­day.

Re­source per­son of dis­abled stu­dents, Ritu At­tri, said nearly 50 stu­dents have par­tic­i­pated in the event.

Stu­dents of all cat­e­gories, in­clud­ing men­tally chal­lenged, phys­i­cally dis­abled, hear­ing and speech im­paired and oth­ers, par­tic­i­pated in var­i­ous events, she added.

She said th­ese stu­dents were not less than any­one and the pro­gramme was con­ducted ev­ery year with an aim to mo­ti­vate them.

Nav­jeet Singh won first prize in short put, while Rahul bagged sec­ond prize. They had also won gold and sil­ver medals, re­spec­tively, at a state-level event, which was held last year in Sangrur. In fancy-dress com­pe­ti­tion, Man­jit and Gur­preet bagged first prize, Navjot got sec­ond prize and Pushpa was third.Sa­gar per­formed on bring­ing aware­ness about fe­male foeticide.

While Neha, Julie and An­jali, pre­sented gid­dha on the oc­ca­sion. Ra­jin­der Ku­mar re­cited ma­ham­ri­tyun­jaya mantra.
