TOURISM HOTEL TO BE DEVELOPED ON PPP MODE
Hotel Amaltas and restaurant Oasis located on the GT road will be developed by the government in collaboration with private players.
Minister for jail and tourism Sarwan Singh Phillaur said this here on Thursday, while speaking at a meeting held at the war museum on Jalandhar bypass road.
He said: “Memories of the war of 1962, 1965 and war of Panipat were preserved at the museum and people visit the place in large numbers.” He said the arms and ammunition of these wars including tanks were also kept at the museum.
Principal secretary (tourism department), Geetika Kalla, defence affairs principal secretary, Vishwajit Khanna, district forest officer Daljit Singh Brar and manager of the war museum Tarlochan Singh among others were present during the meeting.
Ludhiana: The CIA staff of Ludhiana police commissionerate arrested the kingpin of infamous Chetan gang on Wednesday and recovered 300gm narcotic powder from his possession, besides a gold chain that he had snatched from a woman a few days ago.
The accused was wanted in over one dozen cases of snatching and loot.
The accused has been identified as Arjun alias Chetan of Tajpur road. His brother Sanjay alias Sumit and brotherin-law Tuhiyan have are still absconding.
ASI Lakhbir Singh of CIA staff said the police arrested the accused from Jawahar Nagar camp on Wednesday evening. The ASI said the accused had been declared proclaimed offender in several cases.
He said another case of possessing narcotic powder has been registered against him in the division number 5 police station.
