GIRL KILLS SELF AFTER GANG RAPE IN CHURU, FIVE BOOKED: POLICE
BIKANER: A 17-year-old girl died by suicide days after she was allegedly raped by a boy (17) she was in a relationship with and four of his friends in Churu district of Rajasthan, police said on Monday.
According to a complaint filed by the girl’s father, the alleged rape took place on May 10, and the girl consumed poison on Sunday. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors referred her to PBM hospital in Bikaner. “She was declared brought dead,” Churu superintendent of police Jai Yadav said.
An FIR was filed at Ratangarh police station on the basis of her father’s complaint, naming five people, Yadav said.
The girl’s father, a shopkeeper, alleged that the main accused asked her to meet him at a gym on May 10. When she reached the spot, she found the four other accused. The five then forced her inside the gym and raped her.
The accused also threatened the girl against reporting the incident to the police, the father alleged. The girl informed her mother about it the next day.
All the accused have been booked under sections of the IPC and Pocso Act.
While three of the accused, including the main one, have been detained, “teams have been formed to nab the remaining”, the SP said.
