Vivo to in­vest Rs 200 cr to ex­pand plant

Chi­nese smart­phone brand Vivo has an­nounced ex­pan­sion of its man­u­fac­tur­ing fa­cil­ity in Greater Noida, Ut­tar

Pradesh, and in­vested about Rs 200 crore. Vivo has said that it has al­ready in­vested about Rs 300 crore in the plant and added sur­face­mount tech­nol­ogy (SMT) lines to the unit. The fa­cil­ity has in­creased pro­duc­tion to more than 20 lakh units per month, re­it­er­at­ing Vivo's com­mit­ment to the gov­ern­ment's Make In In­dia ini­tia­tive. The newly-added SMT lines will cater to the grow­ing de­mand for Vivo smart­phones in the coun­try, in­clud­ing flag­ship de­vices like NEX and X21, the tele­com com­pany has said in a state­ment.
