Nis­san chief Ghosn ar­rested

Car­los Ghosn, the for­mer chair­man of Nis­san, was sacked from the board of di­rec­tors af­ter his com­pany ac­cused him of "sig­nif­i­cant acts of mis­con­duct". Mr Ghosn had also been ar­rested af­ter be­ing ques­tioned by Ja­panese pros­e­cu­tors for var­i­ous im­pro­pri­eties. In a state­ment, Nis­san said that it had been con­duct­ing a probe into Mr Ghosn for sev­eral months af­ter re­ceiv­ing a whistle­blower re­port. "The in­ves­ti­ga­tion showed that over many years, Mr Ghosn and Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Di­rec­tor Greg Kelly un­der-re­ported their com­pen­sa­tion pack­ages and were in­volved in nu­mer­ous other sig­nif­i­cant acts of mis­con­duct, such as per­sonal use of com­pany as­sets," the state­ment has added.
