SAIL's steel to up­grade Santra­gachi rly stn

SAIL has sup­plied 8,000 tonnes of steel for de­vel­op­ment of Santra­gac­chi rail­way sta­tion as a ter­mi­nal sta­tion. Ac­cord­ing to the steel-maker, plates, struc­turals, in­clud­ing nar­row par­al­lel flange sec­tions, and seis­mic-grade TMT Bars have been sup­plied by Plate Mill of Rourkela Steel Plant and the rolling mills at ISP, Burn­pur, and DSP, Dur­ga­pur. Up­grade of Santra­gac­chi rail­way sta­tion as a ter­mi­nal sta­tion - to de­con­gest Howrah sta­tion un­der the Eastern Rail­way and al­low smooth move­ment of traf­fic is ex­pected to be com­pleted by March 2019 at an es­ti­mated cost of Rs 150 crore.
