Modi to have talks with Macron in France

-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to France in August to attend the G7 summit outreach meeting will be preceded by talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, the French Minister of State for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean Baptiste Lemoyne said. Lemoyne said Macron and Modi have "a strong relationship personally and a great mutual respect."

Lemoyne is the first French leader to visit India since the Modi government assumed charge in its second term. His visit is aimed at laying the groundwork for Modi's visit.

Lemoyne met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The fight against terrorism is at the heart of France's priorities and the country will stay alongside India in this battle, Lemoyne stated.
