NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY INDIA SCHOLARSHIP ( UK)
Newcastle University was ranked in the global top 150 universities in both the Times Higher Education ( THE) and QS rankings published in 2011. According to the Higher Education Statistics Authority, UK, 91.2 per cent of graduates from the university found employment within four months of graduation in 2010.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT Ten new scholarships were introduced in 2012 for Indian students. Each scholarship has a value of £ 2,000, payable towards the first year of tuition fees.
ELIGIBILITY A candidate should have received a place on any postgraduate degree programme for the academic year 2012. The candidate must be an Indian national and have scored 70 per cent or above in their bachelor’s degree.
PROCEDURE Candidate’s can download the application form online and submit the same via email. The candidate must also include a personal statement of not more than 500 words and submit applications by June 30, 2012. More information available at www. ncl. ac. uk
MAASTRICHT UNIVERSITY HIGH POTENTIAL ( NETHERLANDS)
Maastricht University is a renowned international and bilingual university in the Netherlands. The University’s master’s programme in international business was included in the top 28 global business programmes according to a survey published by the Financial Times.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT The high potential scholarship covers the full amount of tuition fees, as well as living expenses, insurance and visa costs. The scholarship is awarded for the complete duration of the programme.
ELIGIBILITY Candidates should be accepted to a UM master’s programme or graduate programme for professionals and must not be older than 35 years . Eligible candidates must belong to a country outside the EEA region and meet all the requirements necessary to obtain a Dutch visa.
PROCEDURE The application form can be downloaded online from October, 2012. In addition to submitting the completed form online, applicants from India also have to send a second digital copy of their application by e- mail to the Maastricht Education & Research Centre ( MERC) in Bangalore.
