1. Last time you cried?

Three days ago on the sets of Bobby Jasoos. It was the last talking scene on Bobby Jasoos. I was crying after finishing it.

2. Your favourite person?

My two- year- old niece, Ira, and nephew, Ruhaan.

3. Do you have a nickname?

Vidu. VB. Balan. My sister and brother-in-law call me Gudiya. Siddharth calls me Vidya. The other endearment­s he says I’m not going to tell you.

4. The hardest decision you’ve had to make?

To not read the papers and not watch TV.

5. If you could make something socially acceptable that’s currently not, what would it be?

To be whatever size or shape you are and not say ‘ Thank You’ when someone says you have lost weight.

6. At the age 10 what did you think you might be doing at the age you are now?

I wanted to be an actor.

7. A role that you’d like to play?

I can’t think of a particular role but a film like

Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight would be great.

8. What era of history would you like to vacation in?

The 1960s. I would like to be around Sharmila Tagore and Mumtaz. Thank God, I’m not competing with Mumtaz. She is the best.

9. What do you hope for in life?

Not to wake up as Groucho Marx. ( Laughs)

10. Favourite actresses?

Sridevi is the encycloped­ia of acting. All you need to do is watch Mr India. Right from Nargis, Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rehman to Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Tabu. And Shabana Azmi!
