LAUNCHED SEPTEMBER 2013 A 1-litre bottle is sold for Rs 10 at bus stops across the state—half the market price of Rs 20. The government has commissioned land for a water plant with a daily capacity of 300,000 litres for the project.

ANNOUNCED FEBRUARY 2014 Cinemas will be built on vacant land owned by Chennai Corporation and will provide entertainment at half the market price. It’s likely to be very cheap since Tamil Nadu already has the most competitive pricing in the country—a cap of Rs 120 for any movie ticket.

ANNOUNCED FEBRUARY 2014 The government will set up 100 subsidised medical stores which will sell medicines at a reasonable rate. The pricing is yet to be announced.
