In­dia’s first Hindi word game app

Based on the “shab­d­koshish” word game from the 1990s, that in­tro­duced univer­sal sym­bols for maa­tras and half con­so­nants hand­writ­ten on wooden tiles and cubes, Funkhel.com re­cently announced a free con­tem­po­rary Hindi word game app for smart­phones and tablets. This is a first in a se­ries of apps to be launched in Bangla and Marathi with Funkhel aim­ing to tap var­i­ous re­gional lan­guages as well. The app is de­signed to work on An­droid, iPhone, iPad, Win­dows phones and presents all Hindi sym­bols con­sist­ing of let­ter, maa­tras, and half con­so­nants in a man­ner which is sim­ple and clear mak­ing the game user-friendly and in­ter­ac­tive. Users can make as many words as pos­si­ble mak­ing use of the given com­bi­na­tion of sym­bols so as to score points while play­ing. Words made us­ing all the given sym­bols get bonus points. Launched in April, it has al­ready been down­loaded by more than 100 peo­ple with a 4.7 rat­ing on Google play­store. Know more on funkhel.shab­d­koshish.com
