Af­ter pro­duc­ing two stand-up spe­cials (Vir Das and Aditi Mit­tal), Net­flix of­fers its first orig­i­nal In­dian se­ries and sec­ond In­dian movie. There’s the Anurag Kashyap and Vikra­ma­ditya Mot­wane di­rected Sa­cred Games, a crime drama based on the Vikram Chan­dra novel. Love Per Square Foot, the first pro­duc­tion from Ron­nie Screw­vala’s new ban­ner, RSVP, will hit the­atres and Net­flix si­mul­ta­ne­ously and marks the fea­ture di­rec­to­rial de­but of ac­tor-writer Anand Ti­wari (Bang Baaja Baaraat). Net­flix’s grand plans to chal­lenge Hol­ly­wood stu­dios in­volve pro­duc­ing Scors­ese’s next, The Ir­ish­man star­ring Robert de Niro, Al Pa­cino and Joe Pesci. Other orig­i­nals that are strong binge­watch con­tenders—the new sea­son of Black Mir­ror and the Coen Broth­ers’ The Bal­lad of Buster Scruggs. Ama­zon’s lo­cal slate in­cludes the R. Mad­ha­van and Amit Sadh-star­rer Breathe. Mean­while, AltBalaji launches Sea­son 1 of The Test Case in which Nim­rat Kaur is a com­bat of­fi­cer try­ing to sur­vive in the male-dom­i­nated spe­cial force train­ing squad.
