ALL IN A DAY’S WORK
Even as he accompanied former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s funeral procession on foot, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured he didn’t neglect his official duties. So, on the morning of the funeral, he held a quick bilateral meeting with Bhutanese king Jigme Khesar, who had come to pay his respects to Vajpayee, at the party’s headquarters. Multiple issues, including the upcoming August 30 meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in Nepal, were discussed at the 30-minute meeting. That very evening, the PM was also onboard a flight to inspect the flood situation in Kerala. Clearly, the word fatigue is not a part of the Modi lexicon.
