Breaking the myth that all healthy food is unappealing and boring, RawStraw, a yearold eatery in the city, serves smoothie bowls that are colourful and nutritious, much like the restaurant's upbeat interiors. “We would go out for a healthy meal and never come back happy. That is perhaps the biggest reason why we wanted to start a restaurant that served fresh, healthy, preservative-free food,” says Mahita C, 26, who co-founded RawStraw with her husband Sagar K Reddy, 30.

On the menu are baked nachos, cold-pressed juices, whole-wheat waffles, pancakes and a few fusion items. They don't use refined sugar. However, you will find the occasional unhealthy cheesy fries here. But Mahita assures us that it’s the demand playing out on their menu. “We started out with an eggitarian menu but now have many non-vegetarian options as well. We change our menu often based on demand,” she says.
