SPORT CLIMBING

Sport climbing gets its first Asian Games break. Three climbers have been chosen for the event, including 18-year-old Bharath Pereira from Bangalore, a six-time junior champion and defending senior one. There will be three events—speed, speed relay and a category that combines lead, speed and bouldering

WUSHU

This Chinese form of martial arts is a combinatio­n of kicks, punches, stances, jumps, balances and more. India won five medals, including a gold, at the 2017 World Wushu Championsh­ips held in Kazan, Russia. One of the winners will be part of the 13-member squad

KURASH

The traditiona­l martial art of Uzbekistan makes its debut. Two combatants try to score points by throwing their opponent to the ground. The Indian Olympic Associatio­n is sending a 12-member team

SEPAK TAKRAW

Popular in South East Asia. Players hit a woven ball over a high net without using hands or arms. As in volleyball, the ball should not touch the ground. India will send a men’s and women’s team

DRAGON BOAT RACE

Thank the Delhi High Court for three rowers winning an appeal against the IOA, which did not include them in the Olympics team even though they won a medal at the fifth Asian Dragon Boat Championsh­ips
