Talk to him about the recipes of their ever-pop­u­lar non-veg­e­tar­ian dishes and Sunny Pal, the 33-year-old third gen­er­a­tion owner of Pal Dhaba in Chandi­garh says, “That will al­ways re­main in the fam­ily.”

Go­ing Back Pal’s grand­fa­ther Ashok Ku­mar was al­lot­ted a booth in 1969. He knew that a ma­jor­ity of the Pun­jabi pop­u­la­tion in the newly es­tab­lished Chandi­garh and ad­join­ing ar­eas would al­ways crave for good non-veg­e­tar­ian food. “The place started with two ta­bles and now has more than 22. This is be­sides the 400 take-away cus­tomers we cater to ev­ery­day,” says Pal.
