The story so far Orig­i­nally started in the year 1962 near the rail­way sta­tion in Lud­hi­ana, Baba’s Chicken, so named be­cause of the flow­ing beard of its founder Har­nam Singh, is one of the most suc­cess­ful

dhab­has in the re­gion. Now spread across Pun­jab in its mod­ern avatar, it still serves the tra­di­tional famed but­ter chicken. As his­tory goes, it is the lack of ready-made dry

masalas that prompted Har­nam Singh to grind his own, thus adding that mouth-wa­ter­ing touch to the chicken. In 1991, the small set up shifted to Model Town in Lud­hi­ana with a dine-in op­tion and the rest as they is his­tory.

What's dif­fer­ent What sets their but­ter chicken apart from all oth­ers is the spe­cially pre­pared yel­low gravy. Creamy and rich with flavours, the thick gravy makes this but­ter chicken fab­u­lous.

Fam­ily Run Har­man's son Kan­waljit Singh, 56, helped build the brand, ex­pand­ing it to four more out­lets within the city and his son Avneet Singh, 32, armed with an MBA is now help­ing run the place.

Beyond Chicken Baba’s Chicken has a lot more to of­fer than just but­ter chicken. It has a vast menu for veg­e­tar­i­ans; the le­mon mush­room and grilled pineapple are the must-haves.
