New stores that are as pretty as the products they sell
A charming heritage bungalow plays muse and host to Casa Buzallong in Vadodara. Located on the ground floor, spread over 3,000 sq ft, it is home to furniture, accent pieces, artefacts and accessories. The store’s high ceilings, mosaic tiles and bright colour scheme creates the perfect backdrop for bespoke sofas, cute teapoys, twinkling lamps, paintings and pretty furnishings.

When cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and wife Aesha Mukherjee, a well known kickboxer, decided to venture into home decor, they began by christening it DaONE Home, inspired by the cricketer’s nickname. The Mumbai launch saw the couple doing up the living room, cosy corners, bedroom and dining areas with their home textile range, bed and table linen and cushions.

In the heart of North Goa lies a 90-year-old villa with Portuguese influences. The 4,000 sq ft Goan villa is now home to Vaishnavipratima, a store that specialises in artefacts, furniture and interior design. The studio gets its name from its founder and interior designer Vaishnavipratima Kodakalla. From beautifully handcrafted mirrors, chests of drawers, consoles, book shelves, bar units and wing chairs made by Indian artisans to cushions, throws, rugs and block-printing art, there’s a lot to choose from. They even have an open café space.
