The Little Food Co
If you decide to go global with your festive menu this year, the Little Food Co can help take away the tedious part of a bash—the cooking and serving. The eight-year-old catering service now only offers a variety of cuisines—from Korean to Mediterranean and Mexican but also sets up the bar and offers seamless service. Bhakti Mehta quit her media job in 2010 to pursue her love for food. She worked with chefs, travelled to experiment with new flavours and continues to add new recipes to her menu. Mehta’s offerings are extensive; she has European, Thai, Oriental and Mexican menus. Regional Indian delicacies and modern Indian food presented attractively, are also popular among her clients.
Festive Foods A flying buffet format, which is easily passed around, live stations and multi-cuisine menus find their way into parties during festivities. “Formal sit-down dinners have become very popular too and people don’t want to be tied down to a single cuisine,” she says. Not all parties are at dinner-time though as weekend brunches, high tea and sundowners are making sure that the party continues throughout the day. Her party menus focus on appetisers that flow through the night and often run into breakfast while dinners for large groups have an elaborate setup with live stations and multiple counters with a cocktail bar that whips up innovative drinks.
