When it comes to planning a wedding, there are a few basic elements to take into account. While these do make up the event, you can transform key details to unforgettable moments. What decor and lighting set up to have, how to keep the cuisine different, what ambience music to play and how to make the seating arrangement are a few of the things that can leave an impression on the guests.

Selection of the venue The wedding venue selection is the first thing to consider when planning the day. Once that is decided, every other detail such as decor and theme will fall in place. If one is opting for a luxurious and extravagant event, the setting has to look grand in every sense. The couple should bear in mind that venue selection is more than just picking the most visually appealing location. Aspects such as convenient transfers to the venue and weather conditions need to be considered as well.

Customisation is key Personalising invites and cocktails are big. A wedding wouldn’t be as exciting if the family’s personality and heritage isn’t infused in

the celebrations. Different couples have different tastes, hobbies, and interests, and no two weddings are alike. Customising coasters or hotel room keys with couple logo is a new idea.

Focus on décor After years of rustic do-ityourself-style weddings, airy venues filled with greenery, and blush colour palettes are in vogue. There are countless options available to create new backdrops and décor elements depending on the function and the theme. Exotic flowers such as hydrangeas, tulips and lilys can transform the venue.

Welcome and hangover kits Welcome kits are a super unique idea to make your wedding guests feel special. A destination wedding is a fun mini vacation for everyone—the couple, their families and the guests. Keep the whole affair comfortable by gifting guests a welcome bag full of goodies and essentials. Similarly, hangover kits are the latest trend to sweep the wedding world. Wedding guests are treated to an assortment of hangover cures items to revive themselves the morning after the celebrations. Palate pleasers Celebrations are incomplete without pampering the guest’s palate, and it is crucial to have a spectrum of dishes to suit every taste. While curating a food menu, make sure the layout compliments the theme, location, season, cultural background and preferences of the family.

The perfect seat A pre-planned seating arrangement will help things run smoothly and guests will be saved from the mad panic of trying to find a seat on a table with their friends or family, and you can place people where they’ll be happiest. While planning, one needs to also determine where the tables need to be located to keep it at a convenient distance from the buffet section.

Photo booths If done well, they are arguably the highlight of the event. A fun backdrop, a few blush-inducing props and in no time you’ll have friends and family mingling in front of the camera. It creates a great photo opportunity and gives everyone something fun to do.

Light it right Candles, string lights, open bulbs, coloured lights and lanterns all create ambience and add warmth to both indoor and outdoor weddings. Uplighting, also known as mood lighting, is one of the most popular choices at weddings today.
