‘Friend’ Turns Foe

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis relied heavily on Right to Information (RTI) activist Ravindra Barhate to expose scams in the former Congress-NCP government. Now, the shoe is on the other foot. Barhate has accused two state ministers of involvement in a Rs 1,600 crore land scam in Pune. The timing has raised eyebrows as Barhate is considered to be a protégé of Fadnavis’s rival Eknath Khadse.
