At SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), students are given opportunities to work on their organisational, managerial, financial and team building skills through organising and hosting mega events, special days, and fests such as Milan, Aarush and the Founder’s Day. One of the largest private universities, SRMIST attracts students not only from India but also from across
the globe. Academically, SRMIST offers choicebased credit system with fully flexible curriculum. The teaching-learning process is based on C-DI-O (Conceive, Design, Implement and Operate) as applicable to real-life situations with active learning laboratory to learn core scientific and engineering concepts experientially and E-lab for improving programming skills. The university has also initiated a Faculty Industry Immersion Programme (FIIP) through which the faculty spends two to three weeks in the industry. This helps them assimilate the needs of the industry and train students to be industry ready. Interested students can take up entrepreneurial ventures, aided by the university in lieu of the final year project work which helps them become employers creating job opportunities. Sandeep Sancheti, Vice-Chancellor, says, “We have a dedicated SRM Innovation and Incubation Centre (SIIC) with a supportive ‘fab lab’ to provide a common platform to create a knowledge sharing hub to actively promote innovation.”
