It’s his first In­de­pen­dence Day af­ter tak­ing of­fice, but Andhra Pradesh chief min­is­ter Y.S. Ja­gan Mo­han Reddy will not be in state cap­i­tal Amaravati all day for the cel­e­bra­tions. He is head­ing for port city Visakha­p­at­nam in­stead. His party, the YSR Congress, swept the polls but lost all four con­stituen­cies in the city. Mother Y.S. Vi­jay­alak­shmi too lost here in the 2014 Lok Sabha elec­tion. Ja­gan hopes to make a fresh start in the city in time for the lo­cal body polls. Not for noth­ing is it called the ‘City of Des­tiny’.
