Digital detox

Kartikey Gupta was off social media since Class 11. “My daily routine included six to seven hours of coaching followed by six to seven hours of self-study.” Gupta extensively practiced sample papers and took mock tests. He stayed in ALLEN coaching centre hostel and that helped him hold discussions with his peers, clear doubts and understand the concepts well.

Goal oriented

Gupta, who aspires to pursue computer science from IIT Bombay says, “I enjoyed mathematics and physics very much and that motivated me to spend so many hours preparing for the exam. He adds, “My weakest point was chemistry so I read and revised that multiple times before I appeared for the final test.”

Managing it well

“Keep calm and do not get stressed on the day of the exam,” says Gupta. To crack the exam with ease, he suggests, “You should be regular in your studies, complete assignments on time, and not indulge in addictive habits such as playing online games.”

Preparation strategy

Himanshu Singh, who scored a total of 340 marks in JEE Advanced 2019 says, “I was quite disciplined. I had a schedule that I followed—wake up at 6 am and sleep at 11 pm. I did my coaching from FIITJEE where I followed the teachers advice meticulously.”

Cracking the code

Singh, who started his JEE prepration quite early says, “Always remain consistent with your preparation, especially during Class 11 and Class 12.” He sported a never give up attitude, and remained modest. That helped him succeed.

Future plans

Singh is planning to take admission in IIT Bombay. “Most of the students enrolled are among the top 50 rank holders. So, I will be exposed to quite a competitive and intellectual group.”

Aim right

Archit Bubna describes his remarkable performance as satisfactory. His love for science and mathematics as well as his father’s dream of him being an IITian drove him to invest himself in achieving his aim.

Coaching helps

Preparing for the JEE since Class 10, he says, “Being regular with your studies, doing mock tests and completing assignments on time is sufficient. Coaching brings a method to the madness and helps streamline things.”

Prime focus

A resident of Delhi, Bubna has not decided which IIT he would like to join but he is sure he wants to pursue computer science engineering. He says, “Starting preparation early is the only way to crack JEE.”
