Institutional deliveries out of total reported deliveries increased from 59.6 per cent to 75.1 per cent in five years. The number of physicians, nurses and midwives per 100,000 population rose from 60 to 104, earning the district rank #5. Home deliveries assisted by SBA health workers increased to 69 per cent from 4.8 per cent
