COVID LOGORRHOEA?
Andhra Pradesh police have slapped a criminal case on former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his allegedly unverified comment that N440K, a new variant of the coronavirus, detected in Kurnool might spread across the state. The Kurnool bar association said his comments triggered panic and worries persisted despite clarifications by officials of the health department. Cases were registered against Naidu under Section 188 and 505(1)(b)(2) of the Indian Penal Code besides Section 54 of the Disaster Management Act, a non–bailable offence. Political vendetta?
