➘ Turn off all screens, including the television, one hour before going to bed

➘ Follow the 20-20-20 rule: take a break every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds—this gives your eyes a muchneeded break from the light of your screen

➘ Instal protective software on sites restricted for young children

➘ Create screen-free zones at home where no one in the family is allowed to use gadgets

➘ Schedule a ‘digital fast’ on certain days every month when gadget use is prohibited

➘ Be a role model for your children by following the same rules for healthy media use as them

➘ Openly discuss device overuse issues and freely voice concerns about any member showing signs of digital addiction
