Increase coordination with states for faster implementation of NEP

To effectively implement NEP, the government must aim to take expenditure on education to 6 per cent of the GDP

On paper, there has been a 31 per cent hike in budgetary allocation to the education department in the past five years but actual expenditure has been lower than the budgetary allocation since 2018-19

Even after two years of NEP, the National Curriculum Framework is not ready

Currently, 14,346 posts of teachers are vacant in KVs and JNVs and more than 6,000 in central universities

The proposed single higher education regulator has not yet been set up

Funds allocated to research and innovation have to be increased
