Chicken and Egg Row
The recent visit of Siddaramaiah, former Congress chief minister of Karnataka, to BJP stronghold Kodagu proved quite eventful. First, someone threw an egg at his car as protests greeted him. The huge turnout at his birthday rally earlier this month had rattled the BJP. It was a disgruntled Congressman who did that, claimed the local BJP after the egg-thrower was caught. If so, why did a BJP leader rush to his rescue, asked Siddaramaiah. Next, the BJP leaders accused him of visiting a temple after having chicken curry for lunch. Why couldn’t he visit a temple in the evening, Siddaramaiah countered, if people could go to a temple in the morning after eating meat for dinner.
