Jailhouse Feast

Mutton is no longer an exception on the prison menu of the Presidency Correctional Home and the Asansol jail, currently home to two Trinamool Congress heavyweights— Partha Chatterjee and Anubrata Mondal. Both leaders like their meat, and jail superintendents have to regularly tweak the menu to include mutton. Cheaper chicken had hitherto been the more frequent non-vegetarian option, especially on festive days. Other inmates can now thank the VIPs among them. In Asansol jail, 44 kg of mutton was cooked since the jail superintendent was reluctant to serve mutton

only to Mondal.
