THE GRAND PRESIDENTIAL SUITE, TAJ MAHAL HOTEL, New Delhi

-

Speckled with glorious art centred on Lutyens’ art and architecture, aerial views of Delhi from windows that let in the sun, light and startling shades of green clumps below that make Delhi look like a blueprint of every architect’s deepest desire, are some of the reasons to set up base here in the heart of the capital. Every bit as tasteful and well curated as all things Lutyen’s , this space is part of the most-extensive and much-awaited restoration in the hotel’s history, and opened doors to praying eyes only this month. For material luxuries, it falls short of nothing with a master bedroom, en-suite bathroom, vanity room, private pantry, boardroom, private workout area, drawing room, dining room, powder room and also offers the additional option of attaching another bedroom, with twin beds, should you expect company, travelling with help or children if you feel inclined to share. Many of the architectural details within the suite are adapted from actual details created for and implemented at Rashtrapati Bhavan. For the final wrap of luxury, there’s Hastens bed linen and Frette bath linen, in-built Jacuzzi and steam bath, custom-designed acoustics, state-of-the-art personal treadmill, gold-plated Christoffle cutlery, Riedel wine glasses, Renault, Bernardaud and Furstenberg crockery along with a highly personalised butler service. Lest we forget, the suite has bullet resistant windows too that meet security specifications as per the Ministry of External Affairs and the U.S State Department.
