“IIM-BANGALORE PREPARES ITS STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN A GLOBAL SETTING”
THE SUCCESS STORIES OF THE FACULTY AND ALUMNI DEMONSTRATE THE INSTITUTE’S HOLISTIC MISSION IN SERVICE OF THE COUNTRY
Iwas nominated by Intel Technologies to the Executive General Management Programme at IIM-Bangalore in 2005, the very year the institute launched the programme. I still remember my first day on campus, awestruck by the academic excellence and grounded thought leadership of the faculty, the brilliant simplicity of the campus, and the outstanding students from across the country.
Be it then or now, when you enter IIM-Bangalore, you instantly experience these elements that make the institute truly world-class. After IIMBangalore, I went on to study at the Kellogg School of Management as well as the Harvard Kennedy School, and worked at the London School of Economics. Notwithstanding the more extensively global ecosystem of students, faculty, alumni and school activities of these institutions compared to IIM-Bangalore, I believe the latter’s faculty and academic approach prepares the students to compete at par even in an international setting.
The immensely inspiring success stories of faculty and alumni of the institute in diverse fields demonstrate its holistic mission in service of the country—not just in business, but in the social and governance space as well. In my interactions, I see that the alumni of IIM-Bangalore relentlessly aspire to make a difference, often not resting even after achieving giant milestones of success, but going beyond to do more, and serve more. I am forever indebted to the institution for playing an instrumental role in shaping my career. ■
