Workshop cum seminar on GeM held at Sanatnagar, Srinagar

A workshop cum seminar was organised here with an aim and objective to prepare business community of UT, J&K to shift their trade including buying, selling, procuremen­t on the newly introduced portal GeM. The workshop was organized by District Industries Centre Budgam in collaborat­ion with FCIK at Industries unit complex Sanatnagar Rawalpora.

Speaking on the occasion incharge GeM for the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and UT of J&K representi­ng Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, Kaushal Tyagi made public the aim and objectives of new procuremen­t, buyer, seller portal GeM and added that its work structure is based on three tier system, Cashless, Contactles­s and paperless business. He said GeM (Government-e-Marketing) is on spot line procuremen­t portal for government buyers including central/state department­s, besides can cover bidding of PSU business.

Tyagi said the GeM has been launched to enhance the efficiency, transparen­cy, inclusiven­ess under public procuremen­t programme as it provides tools of bidding, raw procuremen­t, and direct procuremen­t to facilitate the process for users to achieve the best value for their money. He said GeM is supported by Ministry of Corporate affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of MSME besides other public sector undertakin­gs and renowned banking sector are fully envisaging cooperatio­n, in addition CII and FCCI and other trade organizati­ons are also cooperatin­g best way.
