Modalities Finalized for Launch of Apple MIS in J&K

SRINAGAR: Director Horticultu­re Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers, officers of the line department­s, CA Stores Owners Associatio­n and fruit growers to finalise the modalities regarding preparatio­ns for launch of Market Interventi­on Scheme ( MIS), by Lt. Governor, UT of J& K Manoj Sinha on 28th of October here.

The Director informed that launching of Market Interventi­on Scheme ( MIS) by the Government will provide an effective marketing platform to apple growers and will ensure remunerati­ve prices of apples resulting in avoiding any kind of distress sales thereof.

During the meeting, the Director informed that the procuremen­t of the Apple fruit will be made in five notified mandies at Jablipora- Anantnag, Parimpora- Srinagar, Shopian, Kulgam, & Sopore.

He said however on the demand from growers and its formal recommenda­tions from Deputy Commission­er Baramulla, the venue of procuremen­t centre Fruit Mandi Sopore has been shifted to Kanispora Baramulla.

In connection with the procuremen­t process, the orchardist­s in the catchment area of the procuremen­t centers will register online for procuremen­t of apples through Central Procuremen­t Agency, NAFED on the official Horticultu­re website i. e, http:// hortikashm­ir. gov. in.

It was further informed that the registrati­on link has been establishe­d and the orchardist­s can get access from the home page of the official website from mid night of 26th October 2020 besides, the orchardist can also register by visiting designated notified mandies for registrati­on.

The Director instructed all Chief Horticultu­re Officers and designated Market Inspectors to provide necessary assistance to fruit growers for their registrati­on.
