DHSK, DAK Condole Demise Of Dr Muneer Masoodi

Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Thursday condoled the demise of noted doctor, Prof. (Dr) Muneer Ahmad Masoodi, who passed away after a brief illness in Srinagar on Thursday.

“I am sad to learn about the demise of Dr Masoodi. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace and grant him the highest place in Jannah,” he said.

Grieved over the death, the director said it is a great loss to Jammu and Kashmir’s medical fraternity and his death has resulted in a great void in the medical field.

Thursday held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College, Srinagar to mourn the sad demise of Dr Muneer Masoodi former head of the department of community medicine GMC Srinagar who breathed his last today at SMHS hospital after a brief illness. Paying rich tributes to the deceased, DAK members prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

Saddened over the death, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said it is a great loss to the medical fraternity and his death has resulted in a great void in the field of medicine.

“A medical luminary, Dr Masoodi graduated from GMC Srinagar and after completing his postgradua­tion joined GMC Srinagar and became head of the community medicine,” he said.

Dr Hassan said he was instrument­al in shaping up the department of community medicine at GMC Srinagar.

“His contributi­ons in the field of community medicine will be remembered for a long time,” he said.

“Currently, he was working as professor and head of community medicine at GMC Anantnag,” he added.

The DAK President said during his profession­al career he worked as Medical superinten­dent of SMHS hospital, Bone and Joint hospital and GB pant hospital.
