Inter School Tournament Concludes At Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH: An Inter School Zonal Level Tournament for U-19 Boys organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports in the discipline­s of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Carrom and Athletics concluded on Thursday at Government Higher Secondary School Boys, Bhaderwah.

About 137 student players, drawn from different Higher Secondary Schools of zone Bhaderwah participat­ed in the tournament in a well discipline­d manner.

The main motive of the tournament was to select the best talent in each discipline for their further participat­ion in Inter Zonal District Level tournament­s.

District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jaffer Haider Sheikh advised the student players to stay in touch with games as Inter Zonal District Level tournament­s will start soon at the district headquarte­r.

The Chess final was won by Prince Kotwal of HSS Chinta by defeating Pratyush Bhat of HSS Boys Bhaderwah, while Danish Singh of HSS Boys Bhaderwah won the Carrom final by defeating Danish of HSS Bhalra.

The HSS Boys Bhaderwah Volleyball and Kabaddi teams won the finals of both discipline­s by defeating the respective teams of GHSS Sartingal.

The matches were officiated by Aftab Alam PEM, Abdul Haq PEM, Murtaza Qadir PETs, Gulshan REK, Nidhay Sharma REK, Subash, Rattan Lal PET, Susheela Kumari PET, Ramesha Kumari PET, Asha Devi PET, Reenu Bhala PET, Sanjay Kumar, Suresh Kumar PET, Nirmal Singh, Tariq Sussain PET, Tariq Mehmood PET, Reeta Devi PET, Waqar Ahmed REK besides others staff of Sports Department and the schools.
