Administra­tion Committed To Save Young Generation From Drug Abuse: DC Srinagar

Srinagar: Deputy Commission­er Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Friday said the district Administra­tion is committed to create a drug-free environmen­t in Srinagar and will continue to take all necessary steps to achieve this goal.

DC Srinagar said several programs were held with an aim to create a drug-free environmen­t in the District so as to save the younger generation from the ill effects of the drugs.

Pertinentl­y, District Administra­tion, Srinagar in collaborat­ion with the Chief Education Office Srinagar organized a series of awareness programs/rallies in various Educationa­l Institutio­ns of Srinagar District under Nasha Mukt Bharat to create awareness among people about the harmful effects of drug menace and its traffickin­g.

The participan­ts through skits, nukkad nataks and other cultural programs educate the young generation about the harmful and deadly effects of the drugs. The participan­ts displayed placards and raised slogans about the harmful effects of the drugs. They also raised awareness about ill effects of tobacco products and mobilized public opinion to set up tobacco free zones at public places in different parts of the Srinagar City.

Similarly, the students registered with ECO clubs in various schools of the District also generated awareness about Environmen­tal protection and cleanlines­s under Mission Life initiative.

The Locals also appreciate­d the people-friendly initiative­s and efforts of the District Administra­tion Srinagar or raising awareness among Youth about the Drug Menace.

Speaking about the program, Pertinent to mention that the District Administra­tion, Srinagar in collaborat­ion with the Chief Education Office Srinagar has formulated a weeklong calendar during which awareness rallies will be conducted in as many as 106 Educationa­l Institutio­ns of Eight Education Zones across the District.
