J&K Contingent Leaves For National School Games
JAMMU: The first J&K contingent of 239 athletes including escorting officials was flagged off by Director Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K Subash C Chibber along with District Development Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa on Saturday from MA Stadium here.
The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) is conducting the 66th National School Games (NSG) (2022-23) in various sports disciplines in the age group of U-19 years (Boys & Girls) after a gap of three years.
The J&K contingents comprising 383 (Boys & Girls) and 85 officials are taking part in the 66th National School Games in 20 sports disciplines to be held at different venues across the country.
Congratulating the selected participants, Director YSS hoped that the young athletes would do their best to perform to the highest possible level. He added that since the crucial National level games are resuming after three years, expectations are high with the performances of these young players. “After going through the competitions at various levels, you have reached a position where you will be representing your UT in a very important Sports extravaganza. You should put in all your efforts in achieving the best from this opportunity. I on behalf of the YSS family wish you all the best and pray for your grand success,” Chibber added.
Pertinently Second contingent of 65 (Boys & Girls) including escorting staff is leaving on 4th of the current month from Jammu to Bhopal at 2 PM. The third contingent of 55 (Boys & Girls) including staff shall be leaving on the 6th of June from Jammu to Gwalior at 6 PM. The fourth and last contingent of 106 (Boys & Girls) including staff is leaving on the 8th from Jammu to Gwalior at 6 PM for the participation in 66th National School Games.
