BAJAJ AUTO TO OPEN CKD PLANT FOR ASSEMBLY OF KTM BIKES IN INDONESIA

Marwar - - All Things -

Bajaj Auto plans to open a ‘completely knocked down’ (CKD) plant in Indonesia later this year for the local assembly of KTM motorcycles, the Austrian brand with which it enjoys a strategic partnership. The decision to set up the CKD plant follows the rising demand for the Austrian brand motorcycles in the country. KTM is said to have entered the Indonesian market last year via Bajaj Auto’s 100 per cent subsidiary, PT. Bajaj Indonesia. Currently, all KTM bikes enter the country as completely built units from the group’s Chakan facility. Bajaj Auto, the flagship company of the Bajaj Group, ranks among world’s largest two- and three-wheeler manufacturers.
