Care seems to be generally prerogative of women, as a woman leader in care centric healthcare industry, does it make you to lead differently ?

I think being a woman I had some kind of a compassion and empathy for fellow humans and healthcare industry did attract me a lot because of the kind of care given by doctors and paramedics. So even in the professional domain or in a leadership role it comes automatically. Even if I’m tough from outside, the soft attitude inside me always tells me to be my natural self.

What's your role in supporting the cause of gender equality in your organisation?

In fact most of my co-workers are women. In various forums, I always advocate a need to have women executives and leaders. Reasons - a woman is still a leader in domestic decisions and it comes naturally for her, despite the fact that husbands of today are equally participative in household chores. Women could be emotional at times but I have seen them as hard workers. I think they should coexist with their male counterparts to make a healthy working environment.

Covid has impacted the organisational sustainability , processes and systems, how have you aligned yourself with new strategic and functional imperatives post Covid ?

COVID has surely made us realize how vulnerable life is. We all have seen sufferings or even fatalities. Obviously as an organizational goal we have to keep ourselves more secure in terms of resources and liquidities. We have tried to expand ourselves with territories and even exploring opportunities in some other verticals. We need to control expenses without compromising or affecting the talent pool with us. We have taken this as an opportunity to strategize and rediscover ourselves

As a woman healthcare leader, how do you see future of healthcare industry, are there any paradigm shifts evolving ,if yes, please enlighten us.

If we step back 10 years, the healthcare recruitment was surely not an industry. We all know about manpower consultants or bulk suppliers for turnkey projects. Now with this rapid advancement in digital and other technology, market dynamics change every single day. Due to the super specialization, industry needs specialists in the age of specialization. There is where we the professionals get in. Paradigm shift has happened already in terms of commercial ROI versus technology advancement.we see a much greater role from health and medical insurance companies and the policy makers. Based on this the developed and mature economies will strategize their healthcare goals}

Which is the better leadership succession strategy in healthcare, should the leaders from within the industry be preferred or leaders from other industries be considered ?

It depends on individuals passion. However, preference should be within the industry. Someone who has been a part of observing changes and adapting / equipping himself or herself in terms should be given a chance.

We see a much greater role from health and medical insurance companies and the policy makers. Based on this the developed and mature economies will strategize their healthcare goals.
