Malnutrition is a global health issue I am passionate about addressing and working along with various organizations I am a part of.

Please elaborate on your hospital & introduce to your hospital's leadership?

The Wadia Hospitals comprise of two dedicated super speciality public hospitals the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (525 Beds) & Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital (350 Beds). Our Children’s hospital is 525 beds being India’s first and the largest hospital for Children with more than 40 super-specialties for Children under one roof and the Maternity Hospital is 400 Beds catering to Women and New-born. Both hospitals cater to the underprivileged of the society.

As a leader my role is focused towards strategizing and achieving the objectives and striving harder towards the vision and mission of the organizations, I also dedicate a lot of time for positive change management and team building across all the departments. I would describe myself as an individual who is striving for impact and focused on results, I always believe in a realistic approach for the every day challenges I face and that has helped me achieve the most difficult tasks with precision. I have always focused on engaging with all employees of the workforce and developing a culture of motivation for them, we are constantly innovating and coming up with new services to help our patients receive affordable care.

What is the core mission and vision of your organization?

Our mission is to carry forward the philanthropic legacy of the hospitals and deliver world-class treatments at affordable costs. Our vision is to provide top of the line affordable healthcare services at par with international standards through preventive, curative, intensive and rehabilitative methods as well as spreading awareness about the same through imparting quality health education. It is also our endeavor, as a teaching institute, to provide quality education to aspiring doctors. We strive for providing quality and affordable healthcare for all, our core belief is if we will be able to get the basic things right everything else will fall in place.

Does your hospital serve patients from countries outside of India? If so, could you highlight your global patient reach?

Yes we do serve International Patients in our hospital and strive to provide quality care at affordable costs for the international patients as well. We do have patients who come from SAARC countries, Middle East and Africa. We have also done medical camps in Bangladesh, Iraq and Nepal and provided care to the patients.

What are your hospital's plans and projects aimed at enhancing patient care or expanding services?

We are looking forward to continuing our journey of excellence in patient care, research publications and accreditations. We are also focusing on increasing the scope of our services with an improved focus on organ transplantation and oncology treatments. We are also undergoing a complete transformation of our Maternity hospital with added new scope of services that will be started by the end of 2023. We are also increasing our International outreach to promote medical tourism. As a mission we will keep trying to excel in every front and achieve the maximum for our stakeholders and community at large in the years to come.

How are you seeing the Medical Tourism Industry in India?

Healthcare and tourism are the fastest growing industries in the world; the fusion of both industries is being promoted, as the concept of Medical value tourism is evolving as one sector, which is important to both the Healthcare, and the Tourism industry of our country. As Costs of healthcare in the West are expected to increase exorbitantly with increasing fears of inflation and ease in international travel, rapidly improving technology and standards of care will help improve the industry. A combination of three key factors – quality, availability and cost will play a vital role in the years to come. While India offers affordable and accessible healthcare and wellness services across many destinations, India has been ranked 10th in Medical Tourism Index (MTI) for 2020-21 out of 46 destinations of the world by Medical Tourism Association, indicating a great scope for growth and strong potential to be amongst the top 3 in the years to come.
