Aluminium is widely used in building and construction, especially for exterior structures like cladding, façade, doors and windows. For high-rises, aluminium has always been the first choice with architects and developers due to its properties of being a lighter material (reduces the structural load of a building). Future products like aluminium furniture, aluminium kitchen, and aluminium skirting will also see increased consumption in the near future

Kushal K. Bajaj, Executive Director, Geeta Group, elaborates on the latest trends in doors and windows, and plans of Geeta Aluminium, fenestration arm of the Group, to set up galleries and showrooms across the country What trends are you seeing in doors and windows with respect to designs, colours, and safety features, etc? Types: The growing demand for see-through structures including doors induced with windows, will propel the hinged door demand in commercial buildings. These doors can also be installed to separate the outer floor level with the inside floor level. It is also suitable for residential applications due to its easy fitting and lesser space consumption features. Design: Latest trend of cost optimized high performance windows will be a necessity. Slim Series for better visibility, will see slimmer profiles in trend. With noise, dust pollution and extreme heat in summers, windows to counter these problems will be the most pressing requirement. The design trends of windows and doors are also shifting from simple casement styles to Tilt and Turn designs, which have multipurpose use of operation along with ventilation. Colours: Colour options add to the aesthetical value of aluminium doors and windows; so, they can be tailored to complement the existing décor or new interiors in homes and offices. Colours now range from light to dark in anodizing, while most other colours in between are of powder coating / wood coating application, which is applied to the aluminium frame then bonded with the metal to form a double or triple layered hard-wearing surface. Safety: Multipoint locking with specially designed safety mesh that can be integrated with the windows provide new age safety features. Multipoint locking windows help prevent burglary and will help in window insulation by keeping them airlocked in closed position. Pricing: Since customers have become more quality conscious, they prefer a good brand of windows and doors that will last for at least a decade. Therefore, usage of good quality windows and doors is on the rise. Keeping this aspect in mind, customers are willing to pay that little extra premium for good quality and service, but this will lie within the range of 10 – 15% higher than the usual conventional market and nothing more. What services does Geeta Aluminium offer institutional buyers and retail buyers? Geeta Aluminium’s strength lies in its product offerings since we offer customization to our institutional as well as retail customers. We have a pan India presence in association with our authorised partners and fabricators which gives us the ability and the capacity to serve and install from 1 to 1000+ windows at any given time, in any location in India, plus a

Geeta Group has been present in the Indian fenestration industry for more than 5 decades. Our primary strength lies in providing customized solutions backed by prompt service. Our products do take inspiration from European designs but are priced for the Indian pocket Kushal K. Bajaj

warehouse. We have the entire range of Aluminium System Windows i.e. Sliding, Slim Sliding, Openable, Tilt & Turn, and Sliding Folding with depth of their profiles running from 25mm to 75mm to suit different conditions of opening sizes, wind load, smooth operability and of course affordability. Each system window with its unique properties shuts out disturbances like rain water, mosquitos and other pests, noise, and dust, thereby ensuring good functionally and safety, and giving complete comfort. This vast range with value-added services (both pre and post sales, under ‘Geeta Support System’) along with unmatchable supply chain pan India gives us an edge over any other fenestration company, in servicing institutional buyers and retail buyers. What are your plans for expanding business and in which regions? Geeta Aluminium currently has a presence in 25 cities across India, majorly in metros/cosmopolitan cities. The group is aiming to become the market leader in the Aluminium System Window & Door segment by increasing its footprint not just in metros but also in tier 2 and 3 cities by setting up Geeta Galleries (targeting a total of 150 in the next 5 years). These give customers a ‘touch & feel’ opportunity before making a purchase decision. At present, there are 6 Galleries in Mumbai, 2 in Pune, and 1 each in Nashik, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Shillong, Indore, Udaipur, Jaipur, Jalgaon, Raipur, Ahmedabad, Goa, Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar.
