Mo­bile ap­pli­ca­tions to pro­mote busi­ness tourism in Ser­bia

Mo­bile ap­pli­ca­tions are in­creas­ingly find­ing a place in the pro­mo­tion of a des­ti­na­tion and its venues. The Ser­bian Con­ven­tion Bureau (SCB) re­cently in­tro­duced Ser­bia Meet­ing Plan­ner’s Guide which would help the meet­ing plan­ners to de­cide the po­ten­tial venues. Its easy-to-use in­ter­face and brows­ing so­lu­tion make things easy for the user. At the ICCA congress in Leipzig, Ser­bia was ac­knowl­edged as a leader in ap­ply­ing the lat­est in in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy for des­ti­na­tion pro­mo­tion.

Ser­bia des­ti­na­tion mo­bile ap­pli­ca­tions have been in­te­grated in the SCB Face­book page and to­gether with the mo­bile web­site, it rep­re­sents a step for­ward in dig­i­tal des­ti­na­tion mar­ket­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to the sta­tis­tics re­leased by ICCA re­cently, Ser­bia is the fastest grow­ing meet­ing des­ti­na­tion in Europe with the city of Bel­grade at the fore­front of MICE ac­tiv­i­ties. The city ranks 28th among the Top 200 desti­na­tions MICE desti­na­tions in Europe and in 2010 hosted 33 in­ter­na­tional con­gresses. The mar­ket­ing ef­forts of the SCB have re­sulted in the des­ti­na­tion host­ing 46 in­ter­na­tional events in 2010 from 11 events three years ago.
