Prague Con­ven­tion Bureau takes new ini­tia­tives at EIBTM 2011

Prague Con­ven­tion Bureau (PCB) to­gether with the Prague Tourist Board or­gan­ised a press con­fer­ence for the in­ter­na­tional me­dia, where it in­tro­duced ground­break­ing step of Prague mar­ket­ing cam­paign for pro­mot­ing it­self as a MICE des­ti­na­tion. For the first time the city of Prague will run a mar­ket­ing cam­paign which will fo­cus on at­tract­ing as­so­ci­a­tion, cor­po­rate and gov­ern­ment events.

A mar­ket­ing cam­paign for ap­prox­i­mately Euro 3,45,000 is planned for next year that will in­clude cam­paigns in print me­dia, fam trips and press trips based on the key sell­ing points of Prague, com­bin­ing com­fort­able, ac­ces­si­ble and out­stand­ing con­gres­sional in­fra­struc­ture at a rea­son­able cost.

At EIBTM, PCB launched a new mar­ket­ing tool, ‘Meet­ing Plan­ners´ Guide 2012’ of­fi­cial congress cat­a­logue of Prague, which was pub­lished in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the PCB and C.O.T me­dia pub­lish­ing house. The cat­a­logue is de­signed as an over­view of sig­nif­i­cant con­gres­sional venues from the mod­ern con­fer­ence cen­tres with upto-date tech­nolo­gies to the his­tor­i­cal jew­els in the city cen­tre, re­lated first-class ser­vices and Prague’s ho­tels and other ameni­ties. This cat­a­logue will be a great tool for meet­ing or­gan­is­ers who con­sider Prague for their next event in both hard and elec­tronic ver­sions, which ev­ery­body can down­load at the PCB web­site.

Dur­ing the fair, PCB to­gether with the Czech Con­ven­tion Bureau or­gan­ised a cock­tail re­cep­tion for buy­ers en­ti­tled ‘Ap­plause for the Czech Repub­lic’, a DJ, two beat­box and elec­tric boo­gie per­for­mances that trans­formed the meet­ing plan­ners into elec­tro bug­gers. Part of the party was a tra­di­tional raf­fle with many fan­tas­tic prizes to win, such as a week­end stay in a 5-star ho­tel in Prague, din­ner for two and tick­ets to the state opera, etc.
