Sydney promotes its new refurbished MICE venue
The growing demand for unique MICE outings, has led to destinations in the Asia Pacific to concentrate on infrastructure development, in terms of venues and hotels. The newest entrant is Star City, the only casino in New South Wales, which has undergone a makeover of A$870 million to position itself as a leisure and MICE destination.
Early 2013 will see the venue with a new Events Centre with 2,200 sqm column-free space that would seat 3000 people. This would complement the centre’s existing Lyric Theatre, which can seat 2,000 people.
The Star, which reopened in September 2011, includes a new 5-star boutique hotel and a number of restaurants and bars including David Chang’s Momofuku Seiobo; a 16-room spa. The Star also offers a unique shopping experience with leading retail brands.
