Switzerland: Exclusive Support for MICE Groups

Aishvarya Guhagarkar Manager MICE, Switzerland Tourism As support for MICE groups, we have the following guidelines: • Stay of 5 nights in a 5 star hotel. • Minimum half-day use of conference facility (this to differentiate from a pure leisure group). • Travelling only to Switzerland (stand-alone destination). In Switzerland, we support the group with chocolates, welcome letters and at times with some giveaways. City maps & brochures are given, if asked. At times we do make exceptions on the above requirements, by keeping in mind the profile of the client & purpose of travel, like if they are top-end doctors attending a large congress/conference, bankers meet, and high ranking CEO meet, etc. Each group is treated as case-to-case basis, especially if the travel agency does regular MICE business to Switzerland & is one of our key accounts. Locally in India, ST keeps the MICE agencies informed about the updates in Switzerland via product trainings, e-newsletters, meetings, workshops, etc. As and when the agencies inform ST about MICE groups, we, in turn, keep the Consulate & Embassy informed for easier visa facilitation. ST also helps out with program innovations, information & suggestions.
