New airlines will help the domestic market

-

Naveen Rizvi Sr. Vice President- India & Head TUI - Meetings & Incentives & ICE- Integrated Conference & Event Management

The year 2014 will see an increase in demand for both domestic and international travel as both are different markets altogether. However, domestic MICE is comparatively expected to increase more due to the rupee fluctuation and with companies looking forward to exploring domestic destinations to make the most of their restricted budgets. Also, considering new airlines, such as Air Asia and Singapore Airlines, getting into the domestic market with divergent products - the former a champion in breaking down pricing and the latter a pioneer in luxury service on board, we can expect a considerable increase in domestic travel.

In the international market also, we expect an increased movement in the third and fourth quarters post the General Elections, hopefully with political, economic stability and

stronger rupee
