Boston’s Convention Centre predicts record $680 mn for 2014

The Massachuse­tts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) is expecting to break two major records in 2014. James E. Rooney, Executive Director, MCCA said that the venue is poised to host events generating more hotel room nights than ever before and also to have a greater economic impact. 2014’s meetings and convention­s are projected to generate a total of 629,000 hotel room nights throughout Boston and the region, and $680 million in economic activity, the most since the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) opened in 2004. 2014 is expected to break 2006’s record of 616,000 hotel room nights and 2012’s economic impact record of $656 million.
