Heritage Transport Museum

- Kanchan Nath

The Heritage Transport Museum offers conferencing facilities for about 350 people. They also have an adjoining area where activities can be organised for groups or incentives. We get in touch with Tarun Thakral, Founder & Managing Trustee, Heritage Transport Museum to find out more.

Heritage Transport Museum is not only relevant from a cultural and heritage point of view, it also stands apart from a tourism point of view. The museum has exhibition galleries, a library, a reference centre, a mini auditorium, seminar rooms and refreshment areas.

Meeting Services

The museum hires out space for corporate events. Talking about MICE, Thakral said, “We currently have banqueting space and conference facilities for about 350 people. We also have three and a half acres of land where activities can be organised for groups or incentives. For example, we recently organised a hot air ballooning activity for a French group.” There are different kinds of spaces that the museum offers for conferences, events and exhibitions. The museum has two conference rooms, two terraces and a mini auditorium. It also runs a café which has 85 covers and a souvenir store. A conference room with a capacity of over 300 people may be used for corporate events. The conference room can be partitioned with soundproof folding screens to create two rooms of equal size so that smaller events may be held simultaneously. The museum offers state-of-the-art audio and video equipments for presentations, meetings and conferences. A range of F&B options, depending on the event, are also available.

Expansion Plans

He added, “We are promoting the museum on two folds with the travel agents. One is as an attraction for people who visit Delhi and Gurgaon. For them, it’s a day destination.” As far as expansion plans are concerned, he said, “We are exploring two schools of thought. We will wait for a year and see how the museum is growing, if the demand of the people is to expand the museum we will go in for expansion, or I may go in for India’s first Museohotel (museum hotel), which would be a very different concept of a hotel, with each room being designed differently.”
